BiSeal 0630 is a pre-applied process in which wax based materials are coated onto fasteners making them self-sealing. As parts are installed, the wax migrates along the threads, filling any holes between the fastener and joined parts. Highly effective on self-tapping screws for use with thin metal where typical sealants would not have enough thread engagement or material thickness to properly seal.
Parts sent to ND Industries for BiSeal 0630 pre-application undergo a process in which wax based materials are coated onto fasteners below the head and to the tip, fully coating all lead threads. They arrive to the customer dry to the touch and ready for use. During installation of the fastener, the material collects in the thread path and under the head of the fastener to close off any openings that may allow the passage of fluids or contaminants. BiSeal 0630 processed parts are non-reactive, require no cure time, and will seal immediately on assembly.
BiSeal 0630 processing creates parts which will seal against air, moisture, and environmental contaminants.
Unlike underhead washers which lower clamp load, Biseal 0630 processed parts can be seated at the recommended torque.
Heavy body thickness and toughness make BiSeal 0630 effective for self-tapping fasteners which create larger gaps.
Materials used in BiSeal 0630 processing have a non-volatile content of more than 99 percent by weight.
Waxes applied with the BiSeal 0630 process will not discolor or stain surrounding areas when exposed to paint production systems.
BiSeal 0630 applied waxes will retain their original shape and will not flow or break down when exposed to 1 hour of dry heat at 135°C.
